题目:Multi-pocket Ising Superconductivity and orbital FF/LO states in TMDs

摘要:

Recent breakthroughs in low-dimensional quantum materials have centered on two-dimensional (2D) systems, especially artificial multilayers. In bilayer and trilayer structures, emergent phenomena such as superconductivity and ferromagnetism have been observed, offering new opportunities to explore correlated electronic phases. This talk focuses on quantum phase transitions and Ising superconductivity in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). Using ionic gating, we demonstrate reversible control over multiple quantum phases, including superconductivity, while preserving global symmetries, when local inversion symmetry is broken. Field-effect modulation of both Josephson and spin-orbit coupling plays a central role in realizing exotic states predicted in coupled bilayer superconductors with strong spin-orbit interaction. TMD-based Ising superconductors are characterized by spin-valley locking and robust orthogonal spin protection, which leads to unusually high upper critical fields.

This presentation will address:

  1. Strategies to enhance carrier mobility and access the clean limit of Ising superconductivity.
  2. Approaches for coupling two Ising superconducting layers via Josephson junctions to realize novel Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov (FFLO) states.

简历:

Prof. Jianting Ye received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Zhejiang University. He completed his MPhil (2004) and PhD (2006) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), followed by postdoctoral research at HKUST and Tohoku University. In 2008, he was appointed assistant professor at Tohoku University, initiating his research on electronic devices based on graphene and other 2D materials. He later joined the University of Tokyo as a lecturer in 2010. In 2013, he briefly served as a senior research scientist at RIKEN. Since 2013, he has been at the University of Groningen, where he currently holds the position of full professor and chair of Device Physics of Complex Materials at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials.
