题目:Atom-by-Atom Synthesis of Quantum Materials and Devices

摘要:Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) enables the atom-by-atom synthesis of quantum materials with accurate control over composition, defects, strain, and interfaces. In this talk, I will present our efforts to synthesize and engineer materials ranging from ferroelectric and superconducting functional oxides to transition-metal chalcogenide monolayers. These examples illustrate how atomic-scale control can stabilize and tune intriguing quantum properties. Such capabilities provide promising routes toward developing functional complex materials for practical electronic and photonic devices.



简历:Fengmiao Li is a scientist at the Hefei National Laboratory (HFNL). After receiving his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, CAS, he moved to the University of British Columbia in Canada, where he successively held research positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Associate, and Senior Scientist. He joined HFNL in September 2024. His research focuses on discovering and understanding quantum phenomena in purpose-designed artificial materials and devices.
