摘要: There is broad agreement that the most classical states allowed by quantum mechanics are the coherent states. This naturally raises a deeper question: what are the most genuinely quantum states? To tackle this intriguing problem, I will employ the Majorana representation. The states that emerge from this framework are known as the Kings of Quantumness. In this talk, I will present their distinctive properties in a pedagogical manner and describe their experimental realization. As anticipated, these states exhibit remarkable metrological capabilities, which I will explore in detail. |
简历: Luis L. Sánchez-Soto earned his M.Sc. in Physics in 1984 and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1988, both from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid (UCM). Throughout his career, he has held visiting research appointments at numerous distinguished institutions worldwide, including universities in Paris, Stockholm, and Olomouc (Czech Republic), among others, fostering a broad and international scientific perspective. In 1991, he was appointed Associate Professor at UCM, where he founded one of Spain’s pioneering research groups in the emerging fields of quantum optics and quantum information. His efforts were instrumental in laying the foundation for what has become a vibrant and influential area of study in Spanish physics. In recognition of his academic leadership and scientific achievements, he was promoted to Full Professor in 2002. In 2007, Sánchez-Soto joined the newly established Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen, Germany. There, he took on the leadership of the theory group within the Division of Optics and Information, headed by Gerd Leuchs. In this role, he has been actively engaged in numerous international collaborations, contributing to the advancement of fundamental understanding in quantum science. Since 2023, he has also held an affiliation with the Institute for Quantum Studies at Chapman University in Los Angeles, USA. |
